Couple in the Canyon

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Newlyweds D & J were married back east and I had the opportunity to photograph them before their reception in Utah. We sneaked off into the lush greenery (and weeds) next to the venue in Provo Canyon for some fun couple photos. I discovered that J. had not done a bridal session, so we made sure to get some of the beautiful bride alone. They are such a darling, genuine couple– here are a few of my favorites!

{I think they’re a great match!}

{You may notice her veil going every which way . . . that is because we had such a wind that at one time her veil blew away!! I think it makes for some dramatic images ;)}

{Here’s a little vanilla cream-n-honey action . . . please forgive the photoshop talk}

{One of my most favorites from the session!!}

. . . and with the appropriate walking away image to follow . . .

{D & J– I hope you love the images we captured!! Best of luck to the both of you on your new adventure as husband and wife! You are beautiful!}

{Isn’t this couple simply radiant?!?}

Congratulations to the two of you! It was a blast to photograph your wedding day . . . I can’t wait to share more pictures of your awesome reception too– next installation will be forthcoming in a couple of days. I am so glad you trusted me to be your wedding photographer. You make a beautiful match!

Thanks to the amazingly talented Britt Poppinga who was my stellar second shooter. . . you were terrific!

Wedding Event- American Fork

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Here is the debut of A + C’s wedding day photos. You got a sneak peak when I posted the bridals/ groomals (is that a real word?) earlier in March. Here are the images from their March 27th Wedding at the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple! Congratulations to you!!!

{‘Twas a beautiful day- but the above image doesn’t show how freeeeezing cold and windy it was. The bride & groom were such troopers!}

{Here’s a “swept away” shot- either by a kiss, or by the wind . . . }

{They are such a sweet, loving couple. So perfect together!}

{A little texture play here }

{father of the bride :) }

{gorgeous and delicious wedding cake!}

A & C- thank you for allowing me to photograph your wonderful, amazing day. I can’t wait for you to see the rest of the collection! Enjoy~

Wedding March: A & C

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Meet A. & C. . . . a darling couple whose wedding is this month! We planned this bridal shoot to include the groom as well. Aside from it being a fun dress rehearsal, it was a great opportunity to capture some images of them without the time constraints of the actual wedding day. Plus, they will have some great shots on display at their reception.

Day of the shoot: great overcast sky, mild temperatures, perfect. Then came 3:00 pm, the time we had scheduled the shoot. I ventured outside to test the gail force winds in northern Utah county to determine if it was possible to continue as planned. When my camera nearly blew away (just kidding, have you seen this thing? It is a beast. With the added battery grip it wouldn’t travel far) . . . we decided to relocate to a more sheltered location. So south we went . . . and beautiful C. didn’t complain ONE TIME about being freezing cold, in fact, she doesn’t even look cold in these shots. Quite impressive.

{Before I get going here with the many images that I can’ t help but share, I have to admit that while proofing these I watched an impromptu slideshow of the pictures set to the lovely Enya (thanks pandora). Goosebumps, I tell you. You can just SEE how much they love each other. Yeah, baby!}

{Wow! Isn’t she radiant?}

{Doesn’t he look SHARP?}

{Color pop with a side of unusual reflections . . . I think this one has a fun urban appeal to it}

{This could very well be my favorite. Hmmmm, hard to decide.}

{I asked for American Gothic, and this is what they gave me ;)}

{A & C- thanks for a fun, adventurous shoot! I am so excited to photograph you at the Temple & wedding reception later this month. You are awesome! }

Wedding Bliss

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

I am having too much fun going through this latest batch of images from C + T’s reception Saturday night! This couple was all smiles–and they were just beaming. It was a privilege to capture these images of their special event! Brace yourselves for a huge post . . . I couldn’t leave any of these favorites out!

{Ode to Cinderella & Prince Charming . . . this shot was a great match for the bride & groom!}

{Putting the last few minutes of daylight to good use!}

{I love this shot! You can just see the joy in mom’s eyes here~}

{The guests were given little boxes of tiny confectionary hearts. I love how you can see the hearts raining down on the couple. What a memorable event!!}

Canvas Delight

Monday, January 21st, 2008

A lovely treat was delivered today despite the snow storm that pounded us last night. Right on cue, these two canvases were delivered. One is for one of my wedding couples- I’ll be delivering it to them tomorrow . . . and the other is for me. They turned out absolutely perfect, and I will definitely be ordering through simply canvas again. In fact, I’ll am expecting about 25 of them next week, and I will post more canvas images as they arrive.

{Wow! This is going to be a stunning piece in their home- I love the modern look of the wrapped edges. We chose to wrap this in black.}

{Big baby face canvas = perfect for anywhere, especially the nursery! M. was happy to pose for me, as I wanted to illustrate the large scale of this 20×20 canvas.}

{Oooh, baby!}

{“Now who is that guy? He’s got some killer good looks, I tell ya!} — nothing wrong with a little self-adoration when you’re one year old.}

{detail shot of the gallery wrap- no need for a frame, ready-to-hang with hardware on back.}

Winter Bride

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Here’s a beautiful winter bride I had the privilege of photographing today. The weather was a bit crazy to begin with, but all ended well and we have some amazingly beautiful shots! This was a great warm up and “dress rehearsal” for the wedding day which right around the corner in February. I am looking forward to photographing her reception as well. Here she is- and I guarantee it will be difficult to narrow down the session to some favorites for printing! These are several of my favorite shots:

{the bold contrast with the wet tree bark and white snow made me want to try out a black & white conversion on this one}

{Isn’t she gorgeous? She’s got such a pretty smile and beautiful eyes!}

{I’m loving the soft window light filtering in on this one!}

{magical!}

T- thanks for braving the snow and being willing to try out some fun shots today. Thanks for a great bridal session! :) You are a beautiful bride!

I’ve been so excited to share some of my favorites from this wedding a week ago! They are truly a beautiful couple, with so much spunk and sweetness all mixed together. I enjoyed working with them to design their wedding invitations and was so thrilled to be their wedding photographer.

{D & M in front of the SLC Temple . . . and a little PS action going on. Up close it looks like aged linen!}

{the Beautiful Bride and her sparkly flip-flops}

{D. kissing his bride . . . again :) }

{Four sisters + secret whispering = one blusing bride!}

{As you can tell, I have plenty of favorites from this day . . . I’d love to post ’em all!}

{So in love.}

Marriage in May

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

I thought I’d share some picts from a wedding shot this month at a picturesque mountain resort. The bride & groom were so perfect together. It was a lot of fun! Enjoy!

{Connected.}

{So in Love.}

{Yes. I did lay on the ground to get this shot 😉 }

{He sweeps her off her feet! }

{Love is a beautiful thing.}

Love Is In Bloom

Monday, April 16th, 2007

Here are some of my favorites from a wedding shoot last Wednesday. It was a beautiful ceremony in a beautiful location- Thanksgiving Point Gardens. The bride and groom are clearly head over heals for one another. After shooting formals with thir family we ventured into the garden for a quite stroll. With such a gorgeous backdrop and the perfect touch of cloudy sky, these photos with a soft, beautiful light really capture the feelings of that day.
